It doesn’t take much to fill you up, usually it’s you just eating with your eyes. In warm weather it’s best you stay hydrated, why not do both with these delicious fruit smoothie recipes:
Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients:
* 1 banana
* 1/2 apple
* 1 kiwi, peeled
* 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
* 1 cup orange juice
* 1/2 cup soy milk
* 1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
* 1/2 cup tofu
* 3 tablespoons unsalted natural peanut butter
* 2 tablespoons aloe vera juice
* 2 tablespoons flaxseed oil
* 1 teaspoon barley grass powder (optional)
Directions
1 In a blender, combine banana, apple, kiwi, mixed berries and orange juice. Blend until smooth. Add soy milk, yogurt, tofu, peanut butter, aloe vera juice, flaxseed oil, and barley grass powder. Blend again until well blended. Pour into glasses and serve.
Tropical Fruit Smoothie
Ingredients:
* ½ can pineapple in its own juice, including juice
* 1 cup of Papaya, peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped
* 1 mango, peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped
* 1 ripe banana, peeled and broken into chunks
* 2-3 tablespoons coconut cream (not milk)
* 2-3 tablespoons honey
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 to 1½ cup plain yogurt (we prefer Mountain High brand)
* 1 to 1 ½ cup crushed ice
Directions:
Blend all ingredients, except ice, in blender first set at medium and then at high. When smooth continue blending while pouring in 1 to 1½ cups crushed ice. Serves 4 to 6.
Cranberry & Orange (non-dairy) Smoothie
Ingredients
1 cup cranberry juice
½ cup sorbet, raspberry flavour
1 tablespoon orange juice concentrate
½ cup of orange segments
½ cup fresh cranberries, or cherries (if preferred)
Directions Combine the cranberry juice, sorbet, and orange juice concentrate in a blender. Add the orange sections and cranberries. Blend until smooth
