So what does that mean? The Board of Education has been reformed and is back in power, just like almost every other large school district in the country. Now Mayor Doom-berg would have us believe that a scholastic maelstrom was about to take place, even going so far as to predict riots if he was unable to reassert control over the youths, and most of the media blindly followed him as they always do.

However, I have not heard of any riots, school closings, student walk-outs or teacher strikes since the changeover. There are a lot of kids in summer school and everything seems to be going just fine. It appears that Mike Bloomberg is continuing his practice of fearmongering in order to expand and tighten his control over the city, a legacy that has included his overturning of term limits and intimidating political foes. Where are the ambitious politicians who are ready to challenge this guy in the fall?

According to sources, The funeral will be held on July 7th, at 10am. AEG Live – Jackson’s partner in his now-scuttled comeback concerts – owns Staples and the Nokia Theatre theater next door. The funeral is expected to use both buildings and a surrounding plaza.

Gigantic TV screens will be mounted on the outside for anyone who does not get to make it inside. No word on ticket information, or how to gain entrance.
